johnHere you will find my biography, details of my arrangements, repertoire, future performances etc. All enquiries will be answered, and I am happy to sell/hire scores and parts of most arrangements listed here, and if I can’t, I can normally advise you about how to obtain the work concerned.

By the way, my repertoire list as conductor only contains works which I have conducted in front of a paying audience – I am happy to answer queries about any standard repertoire!

“John Longstaff – a conductor who should be on the international stage…There was a time when I thought I would never hear the [Moeran] Symphony live. This was finally put right when I attended a concert by that overlooked orchestral magician John Longstaff with the Sheffield Symphony Orchestra in the mid-2000s.
Why are conductors of his calibre still overlooked despite the passing of Hickox and Handley? Longstaff does not need a dearth of other talent to stand out in the crowd.”
